“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.”
– Proverbs 29:18
Remember those funny mirrors at the fair, that would distort your reflection? One mirror might make you look taller and paper thin, another might see you shorter and fatter, or wavy and curvy. Hours of entertainment, right there. And today we don’t even need the mirrors, we have our smartphones with all of those filters that can make us look silly, distorted, and unrecognizable.
We’ve let some funny mirrors enter into our lives, distorting our vision, and making our identities unclear to us. There’s a mirror that says our new lives in Christ will mean a new car, a new house, a new spouse… Another mirror may say that our new lives look dark and gloomy, fire and brimstone. So what does it really mean to be made new? Listen in as we learn how to become more like Jesus, who makes us new!
“…be made new in the attitude of your minds; and…put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. ” – Ephesians 4:23-24
